![]() This can be done in cases where the player does not wish to get rid of any other cards in their deck. Pelts can be sacrificed on the Bone Altar event. Pelts stitched together twice by The Mycologists do not earn a double stitched card by the Trader. This is especially effective if the player has more pelts of the same type as their stitched pelt, as all pelts of that same type may then be traded for stitched cards. Rabbit Pelts, Wolf Pelts and Golden Pelts can be stitched together by The Mycologists and then be traded with The Trader for stitched cards. Using them to block hits can be especially important in Kaycee's Mod if the Squirrel Fish challenge is active, as in that case Squirrels cannot be used for blocking enemies instead. They have no cost, meaning they are easy to play. In addition, they can be empowered by other cards bearing sigils such as Leader. In addition to being traded, pelts can also be used in combat to absorb a number of incoming hits from opposing cards, based on the its health value (Rabbit Pelts have 1 health, Wolf Pelts have 2, and Golden Pelts have 3). In regular gameplay however, they are useless, and as such, they are not present in the deck. They are obtained not from the Trapper, but from the Shop or hidden locations throughout Botopia. Holo Pelts are exchanged in Act III for lore.Note that only four cards will be offered, rather than the regular eight cards offered with the other two pelt types. Golden Pelts can be traded for rare cards such as are awarded for boss fights.Additionally however, a single random sigil will be present with the cards offered, similar to the Deck Trial. Like Rabbit Pelts, Wolf Pelts are traded for regular cards with 8 choices presented, and the player will take as many of the choices as they have Wolf Pelts.Rabbit Pelts cost 1-2 teeth, and a free one is always given at the beginning of the Trapper event. If they have more than 8 Rabbit Pelts, however, only 8 will be traded. The player will take as many of the normal cards as they have Rabbit Pelts. The player will be given 8 choices instead of 3, the primary advantage to trading in a Rabbit Pelt as opposed to simply choosing a card normally. A Rabbit Pelt can be traded for regular cards such as can be found in Card Choice events.The main use of the pelts is to be exchanged with the Trader for regular cards, where better pelts result in better cards: ![]() They cannot be used for sacrifices, although they counterintuitively do provide a Bone upon dying. Like other cards, even if they perish from combat, they will remain in the deck for the next encounter (until traded). Using pelts in combat does not destroy them. Unlike the Act 1 pelts, the Holopelt isn't a physical card that can be played. There are four types of pelts: Rabbit Pelts, Wolf Pelts, Golden Pelts and Holo Pelts.
